Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115g) butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips

Cookie Dough Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (57g) butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (55g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (60g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Batter: Melt the butter and stir in the unsweetened cocoa powder and brown sugar until combined. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and chocolate chips until the mixture forms a glossy, thick batter.
  2. Shape the Cookie Dough Centers: Mix softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Gradually combine flour and chocolate chips to form a dough. Roll the dough into small bite-sized balls to be the centers of the brownie bombs.
  3. Assemble the Brownie Bombs: Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease well. Spoon a layer of brownie batter into each cup. Place a cookie dough ball in the center, then cover it completely with remaining brownie batter to encase the dough.
  4. Bake to Perfection: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the brownie bombs for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are set but centers remain soft and gooey. Avoid overbaking to preserve the creamy cookie dough middle.
  5. Cool and Enjoy: Let the brownie bombs cool slightly in the pan before removing. Best served warm to experience the perfect melt-in-your-mouth combination of fudgy brownie and creamy cookie dough.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for smooth mixing and consistent texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter to maintain fudgy brownies rather than cakey.
  • Chill the cookie dough balls slightly for easier handling and to help them stay intact during baking.
  • Check bake time carefully as oven temperatures vary; underbaking slightly enhances gooey centers.
  • Allow baking treats to cool slightly before serving to prevent them from falling apart and to let flavors develop.
