Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • 1 cup fresh spinach (or 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 1 cup artichoke hearts, chopped

Dairy & Cream Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Flavorings & Seasonings

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spinach and Artichokes: Drain and squeeze any excess liquid from fresh spinach, or thoroughly thaw and drain frozen spinach. Chop the artichoke hearts into bite-sized pieces to ensure even distribution in the dip.
  2. Mix the Creamy Base: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream or mayonnaise, minced garlic, shredded mozzarella, and grated parmesan. Stir until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.
  3. Combine All Ingredients: Gently fold the prepared spinach and chopped artichokes into the creamy cheese mixture until everything is evenly incorporated for consistent flavor.
  4. Season and Adjust: Add salt and black pepper to taste. At this point, you may also add optional herbs, spices, or any desired variations to suit your preference.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Optionally sprinkle extra cheese on top for a golden crust. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden on top.

Notes

  • Drain Thoroughly: Excess moisture from spinach can make the dip watery; be sure to squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
  • Use Room Temperature Cheese: Softened cream cheese blends more easily for a smooth texture without lumps.
  • Cheese Blend: Using multiple types of cheese adds flavor complexity and enhances meltiness.
  • Don’t Overbake: Keep an eye on the dip to maintain a creamy interior and prevent it from drying out or browning too much.
  • Let It Rest: Allow the dip to cool for a few minutes after baking to thicken and meld flavors.
