Greens
- 1 cup fresh spinach or kale, washed
Fruits
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 green apple or pear, cored and chopped
- 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
Liquids
- 1 cup coconut water or almond milk
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Optional Sweeteners
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Wash leafy greens thoroughly to remove any grit, peel and slice the banana and apple or pear, and measure all liquids to your desired consistency for blending.
- Blend Until Smooth: Combine all fruits, greens, liquids, and optional sweeteners in a high-speed blender. Blend until the mixture is silky smooth and vibrant green, with no chunks remaining.
- Pour and Freeze: Carefully pour the blended mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a small space at the top to allow for expansion during freezing. Insert the popsicle sticks securely.
- Freeze Fully: Place the molds upright in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours, or overnight for best texture and to ensure the popsicles are fully solidified.
- Enjoy Your Popsicles: To unmold, briefly run warm water over the outside of the molds to loosen the popsicles, then gently pull them out and savor the cold, healthy treat.
Notes
- Use ripe fruits: Overripe bananas and apples work best to add natural sweetness and creaminess, reducing the need for added sugars.
- Balance greens and fruits: Keep a good ratio of greens to fruits to avoid bitterness and maintain a refreshing sweet taste.
- Test consistency: Add more liquid if the blend is too thick for smooth blending and better freezing consistency.
- Layer flavors: For visually appealing popsicles, try layering blended fruit and greens in the molds for striped effects.
- Freeze flat first: Freeze a thin layer of mixture initially, insert sticks, then pour the remaining mixture to keep sticks upright.
