This Nutella Stuffed Cookie Pie combines the gooey richness of Nutella with the warmth of freshly baked cookies, creating a luscious dessert perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights. Featuring a tender cookie crust filled with a smooth chocolate-hazelnut center, this simple yet indulgent recipe is customizable and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • 1 batch of your favorite cookie dough (homemade or pre-made, chocolate chip recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 12 eggs (depending on dough recipe)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda or baking powder
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts (hazelnuts or almonds)

Filling

  • 1/2 cup Nutella spread

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Dough: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly greasing your pie pan. If using homemade dough, mix together your cookie dough ingredients—including butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda/powder, and optional add-ins—until smooth and evenly combined.
  2. Press Half the Dough into the Pan: Take about half of your dough and spread it evenly into the bottom of the prepared pie pan, pressing gently to form a smooth, firm base that will hold the Nutella filling securely.
  3. Add the Nutella Filling: Spoon the Nutella spread over the pressed dough layer, spreading it carefully to cover the surface while leaving a small margin around the edges to ensure the top dough layer adheres properly.
  4. Cover with Remaining Dough: Divide the remaining dough into chunks and arrange them evenly over the Nutella layer. Lightly press and smooth the dough pieces together to seal the filling inside completely.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Place the pie in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cookie dough turns golden brown and the edges are firm but still soft to the touch. Ovens vary, so start checking a few minutes early to prevent overbaking.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool for at least 10 minutes so the Nutella filling settles slightly. Slice and serve warm to enjoy the irresistibly gooey center.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to prevent excessive spreading and keep the pie’s shape intact.
  • Don’t overfill with Nutella to avoid leaking during baking; use just enough for a luscious center.
  • Press the dough evenly in the pie pan to promote consistent baking and avoid undercooked spots.
  • Line the pie pan with parchment paper for easier cleanup and to help lift the pie out smoothly.
  • Store leftovers wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to two days to maintain softness.
  • Freeze the whole pie or individual slices in airtight containers for up to three months; thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
  • Reheat slices briefly in the microwave or oven to restore gooey Nutella texture and fresh-baked aroma.
